Peak / Off-peak usage periods

All aaNet plans include a single download quota, allowing you to perform your downloads at any-time.

  • Peak usage period: 9 AM - 12 midnight (Local time)
  • Off-Peak usage period: 12 midnight - 9 AM (Local time)

Off-Peak Bonus Quota

Should you choose to use your single download quota during the off-peak usage period:

  • aaNet will only count half of whatever is downloaded during the off-peak period.

For example, if you were to perform 6Gb of downloads during the off-peak period, aaNet would only count 3Gb of this toward your monthly download quota.

The off-peak period is a great way to download more data without exceeding your download limit.

Up To 8mbit Speeds

The speed of the up to 8mbit plans is variable, and is dependant on your individual line conditions and equipment used. Theoretical speeds using compatible equipment on the network range anywhere up to 8192 kbit/sec however various factors will limit individual customer speeds, such as length of the physical telephone line, quality of the line, types of modems and equipment used, and ability of the internet source to supply data at sustained speeds.

On advice from our wholesale supplier around 70% of customers tested are able to connect into the network at speeds in excess of 6 Mbits.

Bundling Taalk Home Phone

Taalk is aaNets home phone service which not only saves you money on your monthly broadband, but also provides you with great rates on your local, national, and international calls, as well as calls to mobiles.

For more information, please view aaNet's current Taalk line rental and call rates.

The bundled internet rate is the effective cost of the internet, after the bundling discount has been applied. The bundle discount is provided on a pro-rata basis for the duration of the time that your telephone line is connected to aaNet. This means that your first bill from aaNet will contain the full standalone price of the internet. Your second bill will contain your discount in advance, as well as a pro-rata discount from the month prior, for the period of days since your telephone line transfered to aaNet.
